A very great king was alleged of committing a very heinous crime and no one had the courage to confront him about it. All evidence pointed to the king, and from all indications he was guilty of the crime, but everyone pretended nothing was amiss, and continued worshipping him. After some time, the king invited all his subordinates to his chambers and asked how they felt about the crime he was said to have committed. Worshipping him even more, they said:

"You will always be our king sir, even if you are truly guilty of the crime. No matter what you do, we will always accept you as our king."

One of his subordinates however stood apart and did not join the other subordinates when they responded to the king's question. The king noticed this, and spoke to him directly, asking him the same question.

"Well, you are my king sir, and I do not believe you are guilty of the crime. However, if you truly are guilty, then I think you should repent, otherwise you may not be suitable to continue leading us," replied the subordinate. They were all shocked, and the king quietly sent them all out of his chambers. When they went outside, they despised and condemned the subordinate severely, and spread the news of his arrogance to the king to the entire city. Everyone condemned the subordinate and began treating him as an outcast, but the king did not air his opinion.

Few days later the truth came out, and the real culprit was caught, so it turned out that the king was innocent. Hearing this, the subordinates who praised and worshipped the king when he was said to be guilty, rushed into his chambers and fell at his feet, worshipping him all the more, but the king angrily ordered them to get up, and had all of them sacked. Then he invited the subordinate who had been bold enough to speak his mind, gave him an accelerated promotion, and also appointed a new set of subordinates from afar. As for the culprit, he was thrown into unending turmoil.
